IMPORTANCE OF GO TO SCHOOL

School is very important in the modern life. It prepares you to become someone in the life. Academic achievement is really important for the future of a child. It’s a good place for receive a great education. Some people taught that go to school is just for get a good job. It can help you to get a good job but I think that the main objective of going to school is to get knowledge. Because there are some people who did big studies and they didn’t get a lot of money. But the most important is the knowledge they get in their head. The way which helps you to know that school is very important is it going to help you at least to write and read whatever you want. And if you stay with someone who didn’t go school, you will see that there are a little bit difference between you and him. So I think it’s very important to get scholar education because it going to help you a lot in your life.

IMPORTANCE OF READING

Read a book is a really important fact. Sometimes the students don’t like to read because they taught that it takes a lot of time. It’s true that read a book can take time but I think that it’s a really interesting to read. It’s interesting because it’s a lot of kind of things to read: books, newspapers, magazines…etc. you can find any kind of subject in a book. If you like sport you can find it in a book, if you like cooking you can find a lot of book which talk about that. And I think it’s not a waste of time to read a subject who really interests you. Reading going to help you to know many things about a lot of subject, it just depend of how many book you are already read. If you study a new language like me, read a book in English going to really help you to improve your English because you going to meet a lot of new word and with your dictionary you can find the meaning easily. In fact you can never lose what you learned from a book you will always need it somewhere in your life.

TACOMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Today I am going to write about our school Tacoma Community college. I really like this school because it’s a really big school. It has a lot of building, I don’t know exactly how many building there are in the school but I know that at least there 30 building. And I like the disposition of the building because you can find the building where you want to g easily or thru the map. It is a really organized school. And the only one thing I like in the American university or college like TCC is you can find a lot of program to study. You have a big choice for your major. There are a lot of interesting in the college like the library, the bookstore, the cafeteria, the gym and nice class room. There are a lot of thing who can help you to study correctly like the library; it is the best place that I prefer in the college. There you can find all the kind of book you want, there are a lot of computer who can help you to do you research. I really like this school it’s a really good place to succeed in your studies. Tacoma Community College is a wonderful school.

WHAT ELSE I NEED TO STUDY FOR THIS QUATER

It’s the end of the quarter and I am really satisfied on all what I study on reading writing class during this quarter. I thought that before the end of the quarter I could not do all the things that I studied during this quarter. I study many things about writing an essay; I study a lot of kind of essay like a narrative essay, comparative essay, cause and effect essay and argumentative essay. And I constant that at each essay my grade increase so I did a big progress during this quarter. So I think that I study all what I would study during this quarter in writing, reading and in Plato too. It was a really great quarter I don’t regret why I choose this class. I think that that’s all I need for this level I have no criticism for the teacher.

THE END OF THE QUATER

It’s almost the end of the quarter. It was my first quarter in here and I really enjoyed. My classes were really good, and I really appreciate my classmates in all of my class. Here I am going to talk about my reading class. I like eat it Is a small class in we look like a family. This first quarter was really good for me and he gives me the courage to keep study in this wonderful college. I take this opportunity to tell take you to my teacher Monika who was a really good models for us. I appreciate a lot the way where they manage the class ant the way she use for teach us. She gives us a lot of things to do (joke) but that really help us because I really see my progress about writing. I don’t know if she teaches in level five but I really want to continue in level 5 with her because I like the way that she manage her class. For my classmate too I want to tell them thank you for all the times they help me, they were really kind and I appreciate them a lot. I hope that we will be at the same class next quarter.

VIDEO GAMES

Video game is an electronic game that people use some time for have fun. The electronic systems used to play videos games are personal computer and videos games consoles. The input device used to manipulate video games is called controller might consist of only a button and a joystick. And for the computer it’s sometimes a keyboard or a mouse. There are many kind of games: Core games, casual games, serious games and educational games. You can play it alone or with multiplayer it depends of the kind of game. I really enjoy when I play with my friend. Every day after doing our homework we meet in a house of someone and we play between us. And the thing I like with that Is we have a classmen and each person know how is better than him and you try to do your best for beat him and became one of the best. It is a really good competition and it helps us to improve our English like me because there some of them who speak English in their country so we must speak English between us. It’s a really good way for improve our speaking too.

ME AND THE HOUSE WORK

The house work is one of the things I never want to do. There are many kind of
house work: washing dishes, washing clothes, watching the kitchen the bath room, take
care of the garden… etc. In general in my country the main don’t use to be the house work so all the house work are done by the women. So I don’t know how to do a lot of things like cooking. But if you go to a foreign country and you live by yourself or you live with friends, you have to cook by yourself and do the other housework. That is my problem now. I live with my friend and I never learn how to cook before coming here. The only one thing that I can do is to make a sandwich and to cook omelet. And house work that I really heart is washing dishes. The only one reasons is when I finish to eat something I don’t wash the materials that I used for eat I let them like 2 or three days and after they became too much and take a lot of time for clean them. That’s why every time our kitchen is in disorder.

When do you going to know that you really speak English now.

If you study English you ask you self a lot of question. My English is it very good? Do people understand me when I am talking? But the moment where you really master English you go to know that by yourself. And I think that there two ways that going to make you know if you understand the language. The first one is when you going to stop to translate in your head when someone talks or when you want to say something. I say that because actually it’s my case if I have to say something I try to translate it before in my head or when someone is talking I translate it in my head in my own language. And the second way that going to really show you that you master the language is when you make a morning and you see that your entire dream you did last night was in English. In this way you will now that you really talk English. I am really urged to wake up a morning and feel this kind of situation.

A GOOD WAY FOR IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH

Study a new language is very difficult. But if you want to understand more fast English you have to organize yourself. So before study English you have to test your level for know your level before stated. And if you already know your level you can easily find the way you can improve your level. There are different method for improve your English. It depends of the person who studies. For example if you like read its really good to try to read some simple book in English or try to read magazines and news papers. If you like listening music you can listen some songs in English and try to understand the concept of the song. If you like movie too, try to find your best movies in English. It is a good way because you going to do something you like and you going to learn at the same time. And use a lot dictionary for find the meaning of the new word than you find. It’s difficult to learn but it’s a wonderful language

What have you learned about writing this quarter?

This quarter is my first quarter and I learn about how to write essay. I study a lot of kin of essay that I never study even in my country. I learn different kind of essay like narrative assay, comparative essay, cause and effects and argumentative essays. They help me a lot it help me to know how to combine my idea. Because I think that it’s not really difficult to get some ideas about a topic or a subject but the most difficult is how to arrange this idea. And arrange your Idea is a good thinks because it going to help you in writing and it going to help you in speaking too, because if you speak you have to arrange your idea for help people who listen you to understand you. I learn how to make a good topic sentence and a clear thesis statement. Its help me to improve my vocabulary because if you write an essay you have to use a lot of words. And I like the way by the teacher use for teach us how to write really good. For example she ask us to write to entries in a blog every week so it’s a good way for improve your writing. And I know that all the things that I study in writing this quarter going to help me in my next classes.

SOCCER

In this post I am talking about my favorite sport which is Soccer. Soccer is a collective sport. In a football match there are two teams and each time has 11 players. Soccer is played with a round ball. The goal of each team is to put the ball in the opponent’s goal without using the arms. It is the sport number one in many countries. The world cup is the prestigious competition of soccer. It is organized every 4 years in different country and soon it will be the 2010 world cup in South Africa. It’s the first time that an African country organizes the world cup. The entire World is waiting for this big event. It’s a sport who makes a lot of money. Personally I really like it and I practice it all the week. When I was young my dream to became a football player but in my father want me to concentrate in my study because I have some problems on my left knee and my father taught that I cannot became a big player with that. But know I just play it for enjoy myself. I am playing now with the TCC soccer team and soon in the summer I going to play in a big league in Tacoma. Soccer is a wonderful sport.

how to study very well

Sometimes it’s difficult for the student to know how to study. Often the students establish a program and they cannot follow it. Even with the best intentions they cannot study when they should. They waste all their time. Here is an example. If someone is supposed to study grammar from 7h to 9h. Although determined to work, he takes place at 7h at his desk and realizes that his pencil is not sharp. He goes to the room of a friend who has a pencil sharpener, but it start to discuss with him and loses a good 20 minutes. Back in his room, he remembers that there is a good music program on the radio and think that doing his work and listening the music program will be good. His attention devised between reading and music, and then he realizes that he is dreaming in front of a photo taken recently that reminded him good memories. He arrives at 9h and he has still done nothing. So waste time is one of the main problems of learning. You already see it by yourself. If it’s your case try to correct this default. My solution is to study short and strongly. I think it’s better to study a long time without concentration. For studying well you have too choice the place where you study too. It’s better to study in a quiet area for get more concentration. For example the library is a good place for study. And I think it’s good to make a schedule for manage your time.

SENEGAL MY COUNTRY

SENEGAL

I talk about my country in this writing. My country I Senegal it is situated in the west of the African continent. Our first language is French because we are colonized by France and we get our own independence in April 4 1960. And French is only speaking at school or at work because we have many local languages and each ethnic has his own language. For example me I speak two of them: Serrere and Wolof. The population of Senegal is almost 12 million and Dakar is the capital of the country. And we have a national meals called Thiebou Dieune. It’s a kind of rice and fish its really good and I miss it a lot because when I was there I ate it every week and know I stayed 3 months without eat it.

GENDER

on Thursday we had the opportunity to participate at a good presentation about gender like man and woman . the presenter was Robin Echtle. i found her presentation very interesting . At the beginning all the participant present their self . like you said your name and your gender . after she asked us what which gender do specifically, and the character of each gender. she ask to some student what they feel if someone said them they look like the other gender. For example if your are a man and someone say that you look like a women . personally if someone say me something like that i will take it like a joke because i know that i don,t look like a woman and nobody can see me and say that i look like a woman.

speed reading

how it is difficult to read fastly. its difficult for me to read fastly because i am not realy good in english. so i have to read slowly if i want to understand. but yasterday we studied how to learn fastly at the senate room of our school . i think i t was really good and funny. and the learning had three goals:

1)Increase eyes spam from 1 word to 3-5 words at a time

2) decrease fixation

3) physically moving your eyes faster.

And we proceded to learn 10 secondes, than 8 secondes, than 6 secondes, than 4 secondes, and than 2 secondes pages. And at each time the teacher ask you what do you remember. So you have to read fastly and try to understand at the same time . i could not do that but i know that i will do that one day if i practice it.

what i will do after i finish at TCC

Know i am studying Eap class level 4 at TCC. For my future, i want to finish my EAP class before I start my college class. For this summer quater i want to continue in EAP level Five And start to take Math class too. My major I civil engineering and after graduate aT TCC i want to transfer at University of Washington in Seattle. And at this university i will study until get my master degree . and maybe i will start to job in USA one ore two years in civil engeneering for get a lot of experience and after that i will come back in my country for try to use what i study in USA for develope my country. thats my plan for my future .

HOW A TRIP CAN CHANGE A LIFE?

How a simple trip to another country can change your life. Wednesday 17th 2010 I left my country where I stayed 21 years for come in USA. It was a big event which changed my life because It is the first time when I leave my country and my family. It is difficult to imagine how a simple trip can change many things in your life. Personally this event changed my life negatively and positively.

My life has started to change negatively due only two reasons. The first is that I live in a very united family. So it was very difficult for me to separate with them. I am here since one month and yet I am not in habit to stay far than my family. Although I can not see them I try to talk with them every day. The second reason is I like too much my country’s food. I can not eat him here because I can not cook. But I know that can not do otherwise because it is my choice and choice means lose something too.

My life changes positively because I know that I will receive a good education in USA because there are good universities here. This is the main reason that I chose to leave Senegal for come to study in United States. Another positive thing is I study a new language that is English. That is a good thing to speak English because it is the first language in the world. Although the learning is so difficult for me yet, I say that I will be good if I practice a lot. Another positive point is I meet a lot of people with deferent culture .The united states are a country very diversified because there are a lot of people who come from all over .



Even if the beginning is difficult for me now I hope that I will it will be better for me in a few days. But the most important is to discover many new things. I think that life is just series of adventure and I hope that I will make others cases of adventure.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Immigration means entry into a foreign country of people who come to them to stay and work there. But illegal immigration concerned the inhabitants of poor country seeking a better life in richer countries. Illegal immigration is done so illegally. Like most countries in Africa, Senegal is an underdeveloped country. The rate of unemployment is too high making the lives of many young people very difficult. Faced with this poverty Senegal has experienced a very unfortunate event that is the immigration of young people to Spain. How was it happened and what were the main reasons?

From the years 2004 a good number of young Senegalese one takes the phenomena of illegal immigration to leave Senegal and Join Spain pregnant by the sea canoes for several reasons. These young Senegalese s disbursed a sum equivalent to $ 800 to board a small boat filled with people. They passed through the ocean and made a trip of about 15 days or more.


This phenomenon was due to several reasons. The first reason is the high unemployment rate in our country. Many young graduates unable to find work in the country. This difficulty is due to lack of infrastructure and enterprise can hire these new graduates. Some even go so far as to say that the Senegalese school is training unemployed.

The second reason is the need to try to get his family out of misery. Many young are born in Senegal and we grew up in poverty and misery. These young people are in great difficulty because they have to lighten the task of their parent in the family who has kept up a certain age. So we are in needs to be autonomous and able to take charge. What makes a certain age they want to change their lives and families’ lives.


The third reason is the difficulty of obtaining a visa in the rules of art. As in all countries of Africa, obtaining a visa to leave the country is very difficult. This difficulty is related to the need to have great financial means, to a procedure very lengthy and sometimes you must be very lucky. This difficulty is also related to the reasons listed above which do that there are many applications.


I agree that living conditions in Senegal for some person. But I think it’s not worth risking his life in his canoe. I advise all the young of my country to go through legal way for immigration. I think even that is not a good solution for the country if all young people leave even if I'm in the same case.

Understand the Americains when they talk

How it happens when you come in a country where peolple don't speak your own language ? I am a new new international student in USA . I left my country for the first time . It was my first trip in plane . You can not immagine how it was difficult for my trip and my firsts days in USA.


The 17th march 2010 i left my country for come to USA . It was my first plane trip . As a first plane trip i had needed to ask a lot of questions . And the most difficult was that i had not a direct flight. So i had to do senegal, new york and new york ,seattle . I could ask my questions to the people but it was dificult for me to understand when they answered me . But i did all my possibilities for do all the formalities of the trip until arrive in the USA.

when i arrived in USA i seen that my problems come to started . the Americans people tallk fastly . It is very difficult fo someone who don't know many things in english . I neglected english i was to high school . I started to learn english by myself just before i come to USA . Now I see that the english that i learned whith my books is a few different from the english who is speaking in USA .


I see that its going better now because i try to practice a lot with my host mum and my friends . My host mum help me a lot because she try to talk slowly with me . But now i found a good solution which is to see my best movies in english.

senegalese wrestling is a type of folk wrestling traditional to senegal . The senegalese form traditionelly allows blows with the hands , the only in the west africa to do so .

As a larger confederation and championship around traditionel wrestling is developped since 1990 .Senegalese fighters now practice both forms, called officially <> for the international version and for the striking version .

HISTORY

tanscending ethnic groups , the sport enjoys the statut of national sport . Traditionally young men used to figut as a distraction to court wives prove their manliness and bring honor to their villages. Usually each wrestler performed a particular dance before the start of the combat.

Today is very popular in the country as an indication of male athletic strength and ability . Presently wresteling is aranged by buissnes promoters who offers many millions to the winners.

GOAL

One of the main objectives is to throw the opponent to the ground by lifting him up and over , usually outside a given area.

TRAINING

The senegalese wrestlers train extemely hard and may perform and press ups various dificult phisical exercises throughout the day to build up their strength. however whilst they believe strength is important they also believe that there is a element of luck in the winner, and may perform black magic rituals before a match to increase their chances . common to senegalese wrestlers rubbing a foot on a stone of rubbing themselves with lotions or oils to increase good luck.
